Meghan Markle and Prince Harry tied the knot together in an incredible ceremony that gave us (and the whole world) all the feels.
But the big day was marred with tension after Meghan’s father was caught up in some drama and then had to have surgery, meaning he couldn’t attend his daughter’s wedding.
Thomas, who is recovering from heart surgery in California, did manage to catch the wedding on TV, though. He told TMZ: “My baby looks beautiful and she looks very happy. I wish I were there and I wish them all my love and all happiness.”
He described the service as “emotional and joyful”. We couldn’t agree more.

Everyone was living for Kate Middleton’s side eye at the royal wedding
Prince Charles had the honour of walking Meghan halfway down the aisle. Kensington Palace tweeted the confirmation earlier this week, writing:
“Ms. Meghan Markle has asked His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales to accompany her down the aisle of the Quire of St George’s Chapel on her wedding day. The Price of Wales is pleased to be able to welcome Mr. Markle to the Royal Family in this way.”
Early reports suggested that Meghan’s mother, Doria Radlan, would be given the honour, but in a shocking twist, then news broke that her father, Thomas Markle, would take her place.
Thomas, however, has been involved in a controversial situation this week, after a set of photos that showed him preparing for the wedding were thought to be fake and were apparently sold to the British press.
According to MailOnline, the photos show him being measured for a suit, looking at books of British landmarks and working out with weights, among other scenarios. Reports suggest that the whole thing was staged.
