Another Pair Of High Heel Crocs Have Arrived, And This Time They’re Designer Stilettos

Of course, this isn’t the first time Balenciaga’s design head Demna Gvasalia has collaborated with Crocs. Known for his disruptive style, in October 2017, he debuted a pair of platform crocs at the Spring 2018 show in Paris.

“To me these kind of techniques and working with these kind of materials is very Balenciaga,” he said at the time.

At prices that ranged from $495 to $850, the platforms sold out before they were even released.

“Ugly products have become so ironic that they’re now trendy, thanks to designer brands launching their own ugly clothing items,” writesBusiness Insider’s Mary Hanbury. “It’s an excellent marketing ploy – these unappealing products with large price tags create a backlash and subsequent buzz on social media. ”

As for now, it’s unclear when (or if) the Balenciaga/Croc stilettos will be available for purchase, but in the meantime, we’ll be looking for them on all of our favorite fashion influencers. Because, yea, Crocs are cool now. Isn’t it ironic?
