The much-anticipated second season of This Is Uspremieres tonight at 9 p. m. EST on NBC, and the internet is abuzz with excitement. The award-winning drama stole the hearts of many last season with its unparalleled portrayal of the flawed family.
There was laughter, tears, and nostalgia, and rumor has it this season is to be no different. Get your tissues ready.
The writers and cast, which includes Mandy Moore, Milo Ventimiglia, Chrissy Metz, Sterling K. Brown (who just took home an Emmy Award) and more, have been busy building hype in a series of interviews over the last few weeks. But while everyone has their theory on Jack’s (Ventimiglia) death or how Rebecca (Moore) and Miguel (Jon Huertas) wind up together, the crew has been careful to leave a lot to our imagination. Keep scrolling for five reasons we’re on the edge of our seats for tonight’s premiere.
On Extra, Ventimiglia revealed that we will be finding out how Jack dies “relatively quickly. ” But on the premier of Megyn Kelly Today, Metz just shook her head and said, “You don’t want to know, yet. ” You know what this means, people: Don’t skip a single episode!
We can’t wait to watch Sterling K. Brown post-Emmy and shirtless.
…We also can’t wait to see all of the other swoon-worthy shirtless men.
Will Kevin be leaving his ex-wife-turned-new-girlfriend for the West Coast? It may as well be us that he’s leaving, because we definitely feel for her. *cue more sobs*
Okay, this is serious: Will Kate be going through with her engagement to Toby? On Extra, Ventimiglia said he thought it would make his character very happy if they were to get married … so even though she doesn’t have him to walk her down the aisle, Kate definitely has her father’s blessing.
It’s safe to say, after tonight’s episode, we will all need Mandy Moore to tuck us in post ugly-cry.
