She may have been one of the last to arrive on last night’s red carpet, but Blake Lively’s Met Gala 2018 Versace look was one of the most memorable of them all.
And it’s a good job, really, considering the couturiers behind the gown spent over 600 HOURS creating it.
Speaking to Vogue back in March, Lively revealed that not only is this year’s dress perhaps her favourite ever, but also that those behind it had already been working on it for “over 600 hours”, and it wasn’t yet “done”.
So – judging by the normal working week and relying on our very shaky mathematics – that means that, by March, the gown had been in the works for 15 weeks… around 3. 5 months.
Amal Clooney’s Met Gala dress officially has the Queen’s seal of approval
A justifiably magnificent product of that hard work, the rich crimson dress – complete with a gold, bead-embellished bodice and embroidered half-skirt trailing behind her – totally stole the show.
