You Can Get Married In Ana’s Exact Wedding Dress From ‘Fifty Shades Freed’

The final installment of the Fifty Shades movie franchise, Fifty Shades Freed, comes out on Feb. 9 and diehard fans can’t wait to watch the love story unfold as Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey say ‘I Do’.

And their dreamy nuptials are bound to serve up inspiration for all brides in the wedding planning process, especially when they see Ana’s wedding dress: a custom-made Monique Lhuillier gown, which was crafted specifically for the film by the esteemed designer.

The long-sleeved lace dress sits off-the-shoulder and defines classic romance — and you won’t have to wait for various versions that seem similar if you want to get married in the same dress as Ana. In fact, Lhuillier revealed toHarper’s Bazaar that the designer intends to sell the frock, (which is appropriately named the “Grey” gown), at her boutiques. “It is called the Grey gown and can be special-ordered through one of our flagship stores,” she told the mag.

Ana’s gown was classic and romantic, as the entire frock was made of Chantilly lace. An open-illusion back and lace-covered buttons added to the intricate detailing of the dress, while a Cathedral-length tulle veil featuring appliques of Chantilly lace polished off her look for the big day.

It comes as no surprise to see that costume designer Shay Cunliffe trusted Lhuillier with the project, who was tasked with crafting the exquisite metallic ensemble and feathered cape Dakota Johnson wore in the masquerade scene forFifty Shades Darker. “Anastasia is a classic bride; she’s romantic with a modern twist,” Lhuillier said of the inspiration behind the gown. “She embraces her femininity by wearing a form-fitting, traditional lace silhouette that is elevated with an open décolletage to highlight her delicate features. The soft yet revealing Chantilly-lace illusion back adds mystery and allure. Elegant yet sensual, the gown embodies Anastasia’s persona. ”

You may call me Mrs. Grey. February 9th we unveil our gown!

Not only did Lhuillier craft the ensemble Ana wore for the big day on screen, but she also designed the looks for the entire bridal party, including Christian’s mother and Ana’s BFF, Kate.

Judging by the popularity of the series it’s only a matter of time before elements from Christian and Anastasia’s wedding, (including the wardrobe, of course), pop up on Pinterest boards.
