Whitney’s Easygoing, Ethically Made Summer Slides

From a brand that’s always careful about its environmental and social impact.

Iron-dyed city slippers, $170, available at Mohinders

I first came across Mohinders a few months ago on Instagram, when some or other ethical fashion blogger I follow posted about the brown solid leather city slippers. I loved their look immediately, but since I have been trying to do a better job of admitting to myself that I don’t really wear brown leather, I knew it would be pretty useless to get myself a pair. The brand uses only vegetable-tanned leathers (which are much less harmful to the environment than chromium-tanned ones) and produces responsibly with third-generation artisans in India, but if I wouldn’t wear ’em, it doesn’t matter how ethically they’re made.
