As someone who grew up in the tropics, I consider the fact that I’m deprived of the ability to wear dresses or shorts (with no tights underneath) for a good part of the year here in New York a minor injustice.
As soon as it gets really warm and my friends start complaining about the humidity and sweltering heat of summers in the city, I start to feel little parts of myself coming alive that have been forced to go dormant all winter long.
And though I get the preference for fall and spring dressing since moderate temps allow for more styling flexibility, what I’m really longing for right now are the kinds of steamy days where the goal is to slip into the least amount of clothing possible without going naked.
