From the incredible dresses to the stunning beauty looks – and even a cheeky red carpet proposal – the Met Gala 2018 was the showbiz event of the year.
Stars were clambering over each other to garner the photographers‘ attention on the red carpet – and it seems Kendall Jenner was keen to get the perfect picture. So keen, in fact, that she seemingly moved an assistant out of the way to nail the shot.
In a video that’s doing the rounds on social media, Kendall can be seen sassily putting her hand out to a male assistant before having her photo taken. Awks.
The Twittersphere went into meltdown over the footage, with plenty of tweets from shocked social media users.
“Who does kendall think she is? Did y’all see her push that security guy out of the way!??,” asked one, while another added: “Kendall Jenner shows up to the #MetGala in the most bland toilet paper outfit and had the nerve to push one of the handlers out of the way who was just doing his job on the carpet #rude.”
Just like every year, there are a bunch of people (mostly on Twitter) who are less than pleased with the sartorial offering on the Met Gala red carpet. It didn’t take long for the tweets and memes to come rolling in…
The event, formally known as the Costume Institute Gala, happens every first Monday of May and is a fundraiser dedicated to New York City’s Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute, aka The Anna Wintour Costume Center, in homage to the American Vogue’s editor-in-chief, who has been a chair member of the museum’s gala since 1995.
Every year the celebrities don some of their most outrageous gowns to fit with the theme, which this year is ‘Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination’, and we all knew it was going to be super controversial – and it didn’t disappoint.
