Already making its way into some of the world’s chicest wardrobes, Alexander McQueen’s new Story bag only launched this week but has already been spotted on the arm of Selena Gomez, Kaia Gerber and Naomi Campbell (to name just a few…).
Just when you thought 2019 was the year of the mini tote and clutch pouches, there’s a new cross-body style that looks set to be a real contender.
Not only more practical than both the mini and pouch combined – if it didn’t fit our phone *and* leave us hands-free then we should never really have been interested – it’s an entirely new aesthetic for the iconic design house.
A perfect fit for the millennial, it features minimalist hardware, a tote-able top handle and a detachable cross-body strap. It also comes in a smorgasbord of colourways.
Orchid pink looks set to thrill the extroverts, while a rich red serves as the perfect Christmas present (if anyone’s looking for ideas for us…). There’s also a more muted white, khaki and black, the latter of which is finished with a punchy contrast lining.
So far, the black is proving popular with Naomi and Selena, while Kaia opted for the khaki to pair with her cool Converse/cropped jean and blazer combo (a look we’ll no doubt see in ‘off-duty model’ style inspo galleries for years to come).
And they’re not the only big names who have managed to get their hands on the bag, with Liya Kebede, Liu Wen and Jean Campbell also spotted toting theirs.
