Aside from designer fashion and black sunglasses, Karl had a penchant for his beloved cat, Choupette.
The fashion world went into mourning on Tuesday after Chanel’s head honcho, Karl Lagerfeld, tragically passed away.
In fact, Karl was so enamoured with his pet cat that he said he would marry her if it were legal. So it’s hardly surprising that Karl’s furry friend could be in line to inherit a portion of the late designer’s £150m riches.
In fact, the fashion designer even said himself last year said that “among others” his pet would receive a share of his fortune.
According to French newspaper, Le Figaro, this could indeed be feasible under German law if the cat was nominated the ‘heir’ through an association or foundation.
Karl’s precious cat is an Instagram star in her own right. With around 200,000 followers on social media, she regularly posts snaps of her jet-set lifestyle alongside father, Karl. It’s been reported that Choupette has her own bodyguard, personal chef and two maids.
On the cat’s account yesterday, an Instagram highlights reel named ‘RIP Daddy’ was added. Touching.
Other than Choupette, Karl’s male model muse, Brad Kroenig, as well as Kroenig’s son and Karl’s godson, Hudson, who has starred in many of his Chanel shows, could be in with a portion of the inheritance.
