Two top Victoria’s Secret and Sports Illustrated models share their secrets to off-duty beauty

Whether glossed up on the catwalk, or looking effortlessly chic when off-duty, models always seem to look so glamorous.

But the seemingly-swanky profession also involves some serious skin and hair trials and tribulations with back-to-back photoshoots, extreme makeup looks, international travel and chronic lack of sleep.

So, how do they always look so damn fresh? We’ve checked in with two of the most in-demand runway models of the moment to discover exactly how they do it.

Devon Windsor, Victoria’s Secret model and new face of Juicy Couture OUI Eau de Parfum

“I live by three beauty rules that never fail me”

Ok, so you’ve probably heard them before, but when a Victoria’s Secret angel is saying they work, it’s time to take note.

“Hydration is key! I know that is an obvious one but drinking tons of water and keeping your skin hydrated is very important. I also always make sure exfoliate weekly and I never, ever sleep in my makeup! ”

“I’m a fan of freezing”

As far as wellness and health treatments go, there’s one surefire way to stay fresh according to Devon.

“I personally think cryotherapy is pretty amazing,” she says. “I have done it multiple times and the fact that you freeze your body in a -300°F chamber is pretty nuts but it is good for you. It’s so worth it. ”

“Being blonde is high maintenance”

“I’m blonde and a model, so you can imagine the constant damage my hair receives. ”

To counterbalance the chronic damage, Devon reapplies leave-in conditioner up to five times a day and never touches a hair dryer when she’s not working.

“I mix my own skincare products”

Despite having access to all the latest in celeb skincare, Devon sometimes prefers to take a more hands on approach.

“I make a honey, egg white and lemon face mask. It helps to reduce the appearance of sun spots and pimples, plus, it’s so nutritious and natural, what could be better! ”

“Fragrance is the quickest and more effective way to feel fresh”

Ever since she was a little girl, Devon has always loved floral, bright fragrances.

“I’m obsessed with anything that has jasmine in it. The new fragrance from Juicy Couture, OUI, has a really fresh version of jasmine that I absolutely love. ”

And when it comes to making sure she applies just the right amount, Devon makes it rain; “I spray it in the air and then let it fall on top of me. And I spray a couple of spritzes on my clothes, just to make sure it lasts. ”

Hannah Ferguson, Sports Illustrated star and face of Jimmy Choo’s new perfume, Fever

“Natural in every sense is best”

Whether natural looking or naturally-derived, Hannah always opts for the less-is-more approach.

“I like to wear more natural makeup, with beautiful colours that are true to myself. The only thing I always wear makeup-wise would be mascara. ”

“I had to learn to love running”

When it comes to fitness, Hannah believes that you have to find a method that suits your body type and then learn to love it.

“I trained myself to become a runner; I never really enjoyed it but it works best for my body type. To mix it up, I also walk for cardio and do some yoga classes and resistance training. ”

“Fragrance is the one thing I don’t leave the house without”

“Growing up, I lived on a farm and fragrance has this amazing ability to transport me back to our side patio during summer time, when the air was full of wild flowers. ”

“That’s why I love Jimmy Choo Fever; it’s warm, like the sun. It’s also got vanilla and almond, so there’s a comforting scent to it, too. ”
