Turns out we’ve been using sea salt spray wrong this entire time

Want perfect surfer girl beachy waves? Then you need a great sea salt spray.

If your locks are slightly lacking in volume, texture and shape, a surf mist is a great product to start with, especially when used with a diffuser.

Yep that’s right, sea salt spray works best when applied to damp hair and then blow-dried or left to air-dry. This way it will help to define and set your natural waves as they appear, similar to when you actually go for a dip in the ocean and then lay in the sun.

When applied to dry hair, more product is usually needed to achieve the same effect, which often results in accidental overload and that not-so-nice crunch.

So if you’re ready to test out this method, take a look through our edit of the best sea salt sprays…
