Tropical Decor Has Finally Shed Its Cheesy Reputation

Tropical prints are relegated to dads’ shirts and beach towels, right? Wrong. Well, back it up – we’re happy to leave the cheesy renditions of tropical prints in those roles. It’s the jungle-esque patterns gone psychedelic, moody, and/or abstract that we are super excited to see popping up everywhere.

Two unwavering thumbs up for leafy shower curtains tinted purple and blue and color-blocked throws with the subtlest of beach vibes. An entire sofa upholstered in dark fronds isn’t out of the question, either. We first started rethinking tropical prints when we spotted them in totally non-vacation settings.

Could banana leaves and palm trees really be chic? ! A deep-dive into the world of online shopping tells us yes – as long as there’s some kind of offbeat twist. The less that tropical patterns resemble real-life foliage, in color or shape, the better.
