Kaia Gerber and Pharrell Williams may have stormed the catwalk at last night’s Chanel Metiers d’Art showcase, but it was the runway’s front row attendees who showcased one of the evening’s more surprising trends.
Seemingly dictating a real appetite for a classic, stars took to their seats decked out in all manner of LBDs.
Not just *any* LBD, however… this was a Chanel show after all.
Margot Robbie stole the show in a sleeveless, knee-length tulle number with ruffled, racer neckline and elegant peep-toe pumps, while Penelope Cruz opted for something a little longer with a tumbling, tiered feather skirt.
Using her age to her advantage, teenage model, Lily-Rose Depp, opted for a black mini-dress with sequin accents paired with sheer black tights (which are also making a serious reappearance on the high-fashion circuit, by the way) and pointed courts.
Other stars opting for the unexpectedly muted hue included Diane Kruger, Helena Christensen, Christy Turlington, and Julia Rostin Roitfeld.
Chanel makes waves with beach-themed runway show at Paris Fashion Week
The show was put on during a monumental week for Chanel, who announced on Monday that they have banned fur and exotic animal skins – including that of crocodile, lizard, snake and stingray – from all future collections.
