I would say it’s rare that I embark upon a real love affair with a handbag, but that would be a total lie.
I can – and do – live very happily wearing 99% high street clothing, but when it comes to the vessel in which I tote all my (non-) essentials it’s a whole other matter, as my long-suffering bank balance will tell you.
And while I am still utterly obsessed with my Simon Miller AW18 splurge, with every new year comes a new excuse to freshen things up. And it’s no exaggeration to say I’ve already met my SS19 (and beyond, promise) soulmate.
No stranger to a cult handbag, Chloé’s latest big hitter is the already-iconic ‘C’ crossbody. And when I say ‘big hitter’, it’s totally prospective.
Equipped with a shorter, ring-secured strap for toting as well as a long, adjustable strap for cross-body carrying. But it’s the delicate ‘C’ logo clasp that really clutches at my heart strings – and it’s not just because of the obvious initial resonation (I told you it was made for me…).
The colour palette is another swoon-worthy element, with rich, chocolate brown croc-effect a personal fave, the same fabrication comes in dusty peach and white, while the smoother leather makes use of pastel blues and nude. There is also a mini, metal-chained version for those with fewer ‘essentials’.
Having only very recently launched, if you snap one up quickly (I’m also predicting they’ll sell-out a few times over) then you’ll be one of the first. A trendsetter. Even a bit of a fashion pioneer, if you will.
But you can’t be precious when people start to catch on and join the trend. Because they will.
