It is precisely two weeks until my birthday (August 6! Still plenty of shopping time! ) and I’ve been trying to think about what I’d like to pick up as a treat to myself to celebrate.
As a well-documented Blair Waldorf fanatic, I’ve been a fan of Jennifer Behr’s intricate headbands for a long time, but have never officially splashed out on one of her statement-making pieces for fear I couldn’t pull them off.
Well, I believe that the time is now. I first spotted this particular style on Aurora James at our most recent “How to Make It in Fashion” conference in a rich orange hue, worn with a simple denim dress.
It made me realize that (earmuffs, Blair Waldorf) headbands can be worn with even the most basic of outfits to give them extra oompfh, and not saved for special occasions. The only trick now is deciding which color I want, between a sunny marigold, a stunning tea rose pink or a deep olive green. Since fall is coming (sorry, sorry), I’m leaning towards the olive, which will pop just as well against the pastels and pinks I wear now as they will the all-black ensembles that get me through colder weather. Think of it as my birthday crown.
