New York Fashion Week has officially come to an end, and from the looks of it, the ‘70s and ‘80s are back in a big way – like Studio 54 big. Designers decided to balance their collections by reimagining timeless styles with the retro flare of seventies glamour.
From disco to punk, the runways felt like one big dance floor. We’re talking velvet, faux fur, feathers, and plenty of sequins. (Not to mention that impromptu performance of “Copacabana” by Barry Manilow at the Michael Kors show. )
And after the melancholy mood of Spring, the sunny pops of color and flirty silhouettes shown in this season’s collections were certainly welcome. For those of you who missed out on front-row tickets to see the styles, we rounded up the most memorable looks from NYFW Fall 2019 below.
