The Deep-Cleaning Face Mask Steph Is Really Into Right Now

An important PSA: I’ve found my new favorite face mask as we’re heading into summer, aka Gross, Grimy Skin Season in New York City. Meet the This Works Evening Detox Clay Mask, a deep-cleaning, creamy, soft clay formula that doesn’t dry up and crack like some of the more moisture-sapping ones out there.

It contains a blend of fruit acids to gently exfoliate, kaolin clay to sop up oil and gunk and menthol for an invigorating, cooling effect while you use it. The recommended application is just 10 minutes, and I’ve found that’s really all it takes to make my skin feel super-clean and refreshed, but not dry or tight.

But aside from the legit mask itself, the packaging, which features a built-in brush, is also completely genius: Simply unlock the spout by twisting, squeeze the tube to dispense the product and smooth it over skin with the applicator.

Once you’re done, close it back up, rinse the bristles under warm water – and that’s it. No mess or time spent digging clay out from under your fingernails. Just good skin!
