My collection of wireless bras and I have been inseparable since the dawn of WFH. Gone are the days when sexy lingerie could be found underneath my office outfit. These days, a comfortable, supportive and seam-free wireless bra is my go-to, and I’m absolutely not mad about it.
Sure, there are days where I ditch my bra altogether – except, of course, for the sports bra I don during my gym sessions or home workouts. I sometimes deem it rather unnecessary to subject myself to pesky, pinching underwire. . . but, at the same time, strewing my bras to the back of my chest of drawers altogether is a mistake.
Yep: it seems there are actually tonnes of reasons why you should be wearing a bra – namely the fact that going a long time without any support runs the risk of potentially stretching the Cooper’s ligaments in the breasts.
Bra expert Jill Kenton, who has fitted bras for the likes of Madonna and the late Princess Diana, told GLAMOUR: “Wearing no bra at all can cause breasts to sag if the tissue is left with no support. » Cosmetic surgeon, Dr Dirk Kremer of Harley St. Aesthetics agreed, telling us that “wearing a bra can help to stop premature sagging, as it means that the connective tissue within the breast isn’t stretched as much throughout the day. ” Not ideal.
And that’s where my love affair with wireless bras began. I embarked on a quest to find the best wireless bras that genuinely feel like a second skin, so I could support my boobs underneath my summer dresses but still feel comfy. The result? An edit of wireless bras that are the perfect middle ground between an underwired bra and a sleep bra (or no bra at all).
From the best wireless bras for big busts to the best wireless bra for small breasts, these beauties prevent sagging by restricting natural movement, yet they’re comfy, breathable and invisible under most clothing. Result.
What is the best wireless bra?
I’ve got quite a few wireless bras that I’m keeping on rotation right now, but to be honest? I’ve got one clear favourite. I’m shouting from the rooftops about Good American’s Terry Scoop Bralette. Making your wardrobe basics actually quite sexy, the brand co-founded by Khloe Kardashian doesn’t scrimp on comfort either — this wireless bra being no exception.
It’s made from a super stretchy fabric that moulds and grows with your body shape each time you wear it, offers light-medium support and is sans any fastenings for comfort. It was a godsend for me throughout the heatwave as it remained sweat free and didn’t stick to my skin, plus I felt a million dollars when I paired it with the matching Terry Good Waist Bottom (despite the fact the set is fairly pared-back and simple). You’ll thank me later for investing, trust me.

Besides this Good American DREAM, I’m also reaching for the SKIMS Scoop Neck bra from Kim Kardashian’s Fits Everybody range (seems like the Kardashian sisters know a thing or two about lingerie). . . and if you’re on the hunt for the best wireless bra that’s still uber pretty, make a beeline for Cotton On’s Delilah Lace Bralette. It’s adorned with delicate lace and thin, satin straps.
