The ASOS sale, these are the 21 that our Fashion Editor thinks you should buy

What do we wear now that it’s not freezing cold outside? Are long sleeves entirely off the menu? What about trainers? Are all closed-toes a no?

What about sweatshirts? And socks? What actually *is* a summer wardrobe?

We must urgently you stop panicking. While jumping from the tail end of winter straight to the glory days of summer – via nothing more than a big blur of tracksuits in between – is no doubt daunting, it’s doable. Even more so with the help of a little retail therapy… (any excuse).

Thankfully, online fashion giant ASOS is having an appropriately giant sale right now. And by giant, we mean 48,126 items currently reduced on the website.

Overwhelmed? Don’t be.

With the promise of sun just around the corner – and the faintest whisper of a lift on lockdown at least somewhere on the horizon – we’d be lying if we said our mind immediately wandered to our wardrobes.

The last time we were seen in public (and we don’t mean by strangers 2 metres away in the queue for milk) was over three months ago, when it was still entirely acceptable – expected, even – to be decked out in our coats and boots.

While high street bricks and mortar stores may well be tentatively opening their doors again on Monday, we’re still championing online shopping as our safest bet. And ASOS is a particular soft spot of ours, so we’d like to consider ourselves somewhat of an expert group when it comes to trawling the site for its biggest gems.

As well as a slew of in-house brands and designs, ASOS also plays host to some of the world’s most major high street labels, with Topshop, Other Stories, Weekday, French Connection, Monki, Missguided, Kurt Geiger and New Look amongst the hundreds taking part in the summer sale.

If you’re keen to give your wardrobe a little seasonal update and don’t have time to scan through 48,126 items, then fear not because we’ve done the work for you.
