Taylor Swift did not break wedding guest etiquette at Jack Antonoff and Margaret Qualley’s intimate New Jersey wedding…but she came a little close.
On August 19, the 33-year-old pop star arrived at the Long Beach Island nuptials wearing an asymmetrical Erdem lace midi dress that verges on white in some sunny outdoor photo which originally retailed for £2,995 at Matches Fashion before going on sale for £1,497—featured a corset-inspired bustier top with exposed boning, a ribbon belt, and a flouncy, sheer lace skirt. Swift looked stunning in her wedding guest ensemble, which she paired with sparkling blue heels and her signature red lips.
Likely due to an influx of gawkers that have been swarming Long Beach Island to catch a glimpse at Swift, the singer reportedly entered Antonoff’s wedding venue through the back doors. In the days leading up to the nuptials, which included a rehearsal dinner on August 18, many social media users have criticised the crowds of fans for invading the pop star’s privacy and disrupting her friend’s personal event. Many have called on these so-called fans to rewatch Swift’s vulnerable documentary, Miss Americana, or listen to her songs “I Know Places” and “The Lakes” before repeating this behaviour.
Of course, Swift was not the only famous face at the wedding. The 28-year-old bride’s mother and Maid costar Andie MacDowell attended the celebration alongside other celebrities, including Zoë Kravitz, Channing Tatum, and Lana Del Rey. For her part, Qualley wore a white silk halter dress and Mary Jane flats while the 39-year-old groom wore a black suit.
Taylor Swift and Jack Antonoff have been making music together since 2013, with the Bleachers musician serving as Swift’s “main collaborator” on Midnights, which dropped in October 2022. At the time, Swift was still dating actor Joe Alwyn, who was filming a project with Qualley in Panama while the musicians «found ourselves back in New York, alone, recording every night, staying up late and exploring old memories and midnights past. ”
“Midnights is a wild ride of an album and I couldn’t be happier that my co-pilot on this adventure was @jackantonoff,” Swift wrote on Instagram in honor of the album’s release. “He’s my friend for life (presumptuous I know but I stand by it). «
