Squid Game star HoYeon Jung’s 10 most transformative beauty looks

However, the look of Squid Game’s Player 067 couldn’t be more different from what’s shown on Instagram. We’ve seen her document looks from the runway, editorials, and her everyday life.

And of course, with 11 years of modelling under her belt, naturally, she has built up quite the beauty resumé, including an abundance of shocking hair and makeup transformations.

Squid Game star HoYeon Jung is everywhere. She is the most-followed Korean actress on Instagram, she’s a Louis Vuitton model and she’s starred on the cover of Vogue Korea. But not only is she killing it on screen while being everyone’s fashion favourite, she also knows how to pull off any beauty look.

Not only does she love dewy skin and a natural rosy lip, but in 2016 HoYeon shared her passion for skincare. Teaming up with Vogue for her very own Beauty Secrets, she spoke of her routine for perfect skin and a two-tone lip, including the use of toner, essence, moisturiser, and her favourite step, lip balm.

Fast forward to 2021, in her breakout acting role starring as Kang Sae-byeok, we all fell in love with not only her fearless acting but her flawless skin and black wavy bob.

From electrifying red locks to monochromatic eyes, let’s take a look at some of our favourite photos of Squid Game star HoYeon Jung’s most transformative beauty looks…

Braids and piercings

Giving us a behind-the-scenes look of her early 2021 Vogue Korea shoot, HoYeon wears black and red braided space buns complete with face gems and a fake nose piercing. This is very much giving Sailor Moon meets Bella Poarch.

Barbie blonde

With a long blonde fringed wig, this look is definitely channeling HoYeon’s inner Barbie girl. Rosy cheeks, a nude lip and feathery lashes take us to her Barbie world, completing the doll-like look.

Pearl-studded base

What’s more chic than a pearl necklace? A pearl-studded face. Paired with lizard-like contact lenses, she is a true mythical beauty. So, when in doubt, cover your whole face in pearls.

Monochrome

Jeremy Scott’s A/W 2019 newsprint fashion follows through to the hair and makeup looks of the runway. This black smokey eye and monochromatic hair and nails scream sultry grunge.

Blue contacts

Nothing can disguise the eyes better than coloured contacts. Squid Game saw dark piercing brown, here we see ocean blues. Natural feathery brows make for this no-makeup transformation.

Long red locks

Flashback to 2017, HoYeon was known for her vibrant red hair. Here she is in all her natural glory during her early days as a model. Fair brows and all!

Glossy eyes

Back in 2018, glossy eyes were the new dewy skin. For yet another cover story, here she is rocking the iridescent wet-eye and two-tone lip look.

Floral fantasy

Not an everyday look but one that is dainty and elegant, this matte base with blush hues in the lip and cheek complements the overall pastel aesthetic. She is definitely pretty in pink.

Pixie grunge

We’re used to seeing HoYeon with short hair, but not pixie cut short! As we’ve seen with many celebrities, the cropped pixie cut is the shortcut to instant cheekbones and this look is no exception.

Pops of purple

There are not too many lipstick shades that you can happily smear over your sockets and through your hair. But HoYeon pulls off this purple playful look effortlessly with blended shadows, a deep shimmer lip and a colourful take on Y2K hairstreaks.

It’s safe to say that we can’t get enough of HoYeon Jung’s style.
