According to WWD reports, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office confirmed that her production company, July Moon Productions, filed a trademark for ‘Selena Gomez’ on 11th July for a number of beauty products including ‘fragrances, perfumes, colognes, aftershaves, cosmetics, cosmetic preparations, body care preparations, skin care preparations, hair care preparations, soaps, moisturisers, incense, nail preparations, beauty products, and essential oils among others.
This is not a drill, people! The latest celebrity to join the beauty mogul bandwagon is none other than actress, singer and beauty icon, Selena Gomez.
As if singing, acting and producing a hit Netflix show wasn’t enough, the star has added another string to her bow with an upcoming beauty line.
Selena isn’t a stranger to the beauty industry; she had previously launched a namesake fragrance with Adrenalina Inc in 2011 which she crowdsourced through her fans who helped create its scent profile. Outside of beauty, the star has landed numerous fashion campaigns including popular brands such as Coach, Louis Vuitton, and Puma.
She follows an array of celebrities using their star power to launch beauty lines such as Lady Gaga, Kendall Jenner and Ariana Grande following the success of Kylie Cosmetics and Fenty Beauty.
The Wolvez singer has kept been keeping a fairly low profile on social media this summer. Entertainment Tonight reports that fall will be much busier for the singer, who’s getting ready to release new music.
A source told the outlet last month that Selena “is really enjoying this time off before things ramp up again. Selena has been working on new music and plans to release some this year. The new music is going to be a different side of Selena and very personal. Selena has gone through a lot over the years and is ready to share it with the world.”
