Fans of Little Mix will know that Perrie Edwards has a bit of a history with her oesophagus, and it seems that she’s taking more steps to eradicate any issues after confirming she’s had another operation.
The 25-year-old singer took to Instagram to let her fans know that she’d undergone throat surgery, but that she was recovering well – in one of her favourite places, too.
Posing makeup-free with her freckles on full display, she wrote, “Only I would have an operation then ask to be taken to the ivy for my favourite chocolate bomb dessert! My oesophagus can’t come between me and my love of food. What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger”
Okay, so maybe our setup is a little more ‘Ben Jerry’s on the sofa while binge-watching Netflix‘ than ‘chocolate bomb dessert at The Ivy, but we can all relate to wanting something that makes us feel all cosy and happy inside when we’re feeling under the weather – oh, and doing whatever we can to shove food in our faces.
Perrie has a large scar across her stomach as a result of surgery she underwent as a child to help widen her oesophagus as she couldn’t digest food properly, and she’s also had her tonsils out.
Speaking to Now Magazine about her scar, she said, “My biggest body-hang up is my scar on my stomach. When I was little, my oesophagus was too small, so I had to get it operated on to help me eat properly. I had to have lots of operations, so that’s why I don’t want to show it. ” Over the years though, she’s become more comfortable showing off her scar, and now encourages others to do the same.
Perrie also documented her hospital stay on Instagram Stories, making us giggle with her commentary on her mum’s snoring.
