Kate Middleton Pays a Special Visit to Bletchley Park Ahead of Meeting Baby Archie

Kate’s royal engagement came just hours before she and Prince William headed off to meet their adorable new nephew, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor. Meghan Markle and Prince Harry welcomed their first child on May 6, but Will and Kate had yet to meet the tiny tot.

“Harry and Meghan spent the weekend enjoying their first weekend as parents, celebrating Mother’s Day, and had visits from a few friends,” a palace rep told People. Following baby Archie’s birth, Will told reporters that he was “absolutely thrilled” and joked that he was “very pleased to welcome my brother to the sleep deprivation society that is parenting!” We wonder if Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis tagged along!

Kate Middleton paid a visit to Bletchley Park in England on Tuesday. The Duchess of Cambridge – who looked ready for Summer in a polka-dot Alessandra Rich dress – viewed a new D-Day exhibition in the newly restored Teleprinter Building and chatted with some of the people who assisted in the renovation. In honor of the 75th anniversary of D-Day, which is on June 6, she also met with students while participating in the codebreaking center’s new interactive STEM learning activities.

The visit was extra special for Kate, given that her grandmother, Valerie Glassborow, and great aunt Mary Glassborow, worked at Bletchley Park during WWII. “I have always been immensely proud of my grandmother, Valerie Glassborow, who worked at Bletchley Park during the Second World War,” the duchess wrote in a 2016 puzzle book for the UK’s Signals Intelligence and Cyber Security agency.

“She and her twin sister, Mary, served with thousands of other young women as part of the great Allied effort to break enemy codes. They hardly ever talked about their wartime service, but we now know just how important the men and women of Bletchley Park were, as they tackled some of the hardest problems facing the country.”

If Pippa Middleton Wore This Dress to My Wedding, I’d Kind of Want to Trade With Her

OK, I get that Pippa Middleton’s Kate Spade New York dress is blue. And, sure, most brides wear white. But if I was Lady Gabriella Windsor walking down the aisle at my own wedding, and I eyed Pippa’s modest belted midi in the crowd, I’d make a mental note to chat with her after I exchanged my vows. “So, can I borrow your dress, like, next weekend?” I would ask before I even had my first sip of champagne.

Lady Gabriella wore a stunning Luisa Beccaria custom bridal look, but that set the stage for a very stylish group of attendees at her nuptials, which took place on May 18 at Windsor Castle.

Pippa’s outfit had to be my favorite. She accessorized her Spring 2019 design, which is on sale for $638, with sky blue suede pumps, a thick velvet headband, stunning sapphire earrings, a neutral gray clutch, and her engagement ring. Pippa glowed as she entered the ceremony with her husband James Matthews and the rest of their family.

The new mom may not have chosen an unexpected color, as she wears blue quite often like her sister Kate, but the row of buttons and skinny belt that embellished this particular silhouette make it one of her most memorable looks.
