Hardly you will meet the person with absolutely white skin – neither birthmarks, nor freckles. Honestly, they even go to us, probably, add playfulness … Someone has a whole lot of them. Long since the birthmarks predicted the fate and character of man.

There is even such a childish habit – to show off birthmarks and count them. By the way, for some well-known beauties (Merlin Monroe, Cindy Crawford), the mole became a kind of “visiting card”. And yet we are worried – sometimes about, and more often without.

Let’s estimate the situation

“Our non-indifference to the number of birthmarks on the body is fueled by the general oncological alertness of the society, but this decoration is not always a cause for concern,” says Galina Miroshnichenko, the chief freelance oncologist of the Leninsky district. In fact, there are a lot of pigmented lesions on the skin: moles, freckles, red spots. All of them are different in their structure and require different attitudes.

Medicine is the usual for us birthmark called “nevus. ” Moles (nevi) are partly a consequence of our gene pool, which means that they are inherent in us genetically. Some skin formations, papillomas for example, can have a viral etiology, in addition, pigment spots can appear on the skin, vascular formations – the so-called hemangiomas. For example, red specks, which when pressed white,

Risk group – support group

“But the pigment papillomas, which are externally darker than the skin, can manifest themselves in different ways. They can indeed be dangerous and reborn from a benign tumor to a malignant one.

The risk group includes people with white skin. They usually have a red hair color and blue eyes, “Galina Miroshnichenko emphasizes. In addition, there is a danger for those who have relatives in the family with skin diseases.

With this predisposition to oncology, you should be as careful as possible:

• avoid prolonged exposure to the sun;
• Try not to injure the birthmark (and if the birthmark hinders you, rubs against clothing, for example, about the bra strap, then it is better to remove it);
• Maintain a diet (vegetable food – fruits, vegetables, fiber, multivitamin preparations);
• engage in fitness, maintaining a good physical shape;
• Do not neglect the elementary rules of hygiene, take care of the skin (lubricating the body with various creams helps protect the skin from viruses);

• Attend an oncologist once a year.

The head of the dispensary department of the Novosibirsk regional oncological dispensary OGUZ Lyubov Cherdakova also assures that not all birthmarks are dangerous. The main thing is to be attentive to yourself, to notice changes on the skin. Ask relatives to examine you, say, from the back, as not all birthmarks are available to your eyes.

An alarm signal An

indication of the activation of a mole (nevus), that is, its unusual “behavior”, may become a cause for concern and treatment to an oncologist:

• compaction;
• itching, burning, or tingling;
• change in size (both increase in birthmark and decrease);
• Redness of the skin around the mole;
• the appearance of cracks, bleeding;
• appearance of a crust on the surface of the mole;
• Color change (both lightening and darkening).

Be careful with peeling!

In order to avoid possible complications, it is better to remove “uncomfortable” birthmarks: those that are hindering you, and those that are in traumatic places (for example, underarms, neck). Remember that the birthmark is often injured physically – by clothes or, for example, a washcloth. In addition, pigmented formations can also damage the chemical effect, such as a steaming mask or a decoction of celandine. Therefore, it is unreasonable to “remove” pigmentation in this way.

The cosmetologist of the health center “Helios” Natalia Sukhanova also notes:

“When visiting a beauty salon or doing any cosmetic procedures at home, you must be extremely careful with those areas of the skin where the birthmarks are concentrated. If there are more than ten birthmarks on the face, then it is worth noting the peeling. ”
