Since 2006, Nanushka has been slowly building up it’s presence on the style set with ambassadors like @songofstyle and @lifeofboheme both total fangirls of the collections. Low-key chic and a fashion editor favourite too, this is the year the label is going to go stellar.
It’s there again, filling your feed with subtle shades and easy silhouettes. The pieces that you know would make getting dressed in the morning a billion times better and fill in the gaps in your wardrobe, without being as boring as a basic. It’s Nanushka. The label that all your favourite Instagrammers rely on to pep up their look – and you should, too.
Founded by Sandra Sadnor and based in Budapest, Nanushka is feminine without being girly and grounded in a deep consideration for the manufacturing process. The vegan leather pieces that feature in the Spring / Summer collection are some of the strongest examples of a trend that took over the catwalk – warm weather leather is A Thing – but that have the added bonus of being not made from animals.
Sandra told GLAMOUR: “Sustainability was always very important for Nanushka and the positive response towards the material and styles from our customers ensured us that we made the right steps. I think it’s very important that we try alternative ways in order to try to preserve the environment for upcoming generations and (for) the fashion industry make the right steps.” We totally agree.
Our favourite pieces from Spring / Summer? We’re particularly feeling the sand denim jacket, silk scarf print shorts and perfect high-waisted off white trousers. You’ll return to them all season long and beyond. Sandra loves the kimono cut from leather too. “It’s a modern spin on a classic silhouette updated with metal hardware.” But how to style those key items? Concentrate on a tonal palette – Nanushka’s look is not about a colour clash. Scroll through the brands fans on Insta for ideas #nanushkagirls. “I have so many (street style) favourites,” admits Sandra, “(there are) so many girls with cool style. I really like seeing how they reimagine the Nanushka pieces and they inspire me as well.”
If you need a few ideas on how to incorporate the brand into your own outfits we’ve done the hard work for for you (I mean, when we say ‘work’…) and picked out our favourite style influencers for tips on the best way to wear Nanushka this season.
@thehautepursuit in Nanushka’s red leather trousers. Work an on-trend colour block effect with a sharply cut jacket in a matching shade for maximum fashion impact. Go bold or go home.
@haileybieber makes us dream of sunnier days (pleeeeeease) in a modern denim two-piece and the ultimate in specs appeal.
@americantwoshot in the ultimate hoodie. If you don’t want to wear matchy-matchy tones head to toe, go for tonal shades within the same colour palette. Mauve and violet rule.
@larkicheva proves that the bumbag is still a thing but it’s best to wear it in a contrasting shade to your outfit – and as a cross body bag, not around your hips please, thanks.
@louloudesaison keeps everything in elegant griege, white and tortoiseshell shades. The whole Nanushka vibe is all about soft shades together.
