Over $1000 Worth Of Makeup Was Destroyed At Sephora

Makeup artist Brittney Nelson recently share a photo of what she estimates to be $1,300 worth of Make Up For Ever eye shadow destroyed on a display at a Sephora in Augusta, Georgia.

“Anna Heath and I about passed out when we saw this atrocity,” she wrote on Facebook. Apparently, it was the work of a fellow shopper’s child who probably thought they were playing with finger paints. “…I was just walking in as the mom/kid were hustling out of there,” she explained.

Whether it’s makeup artists crushing palettes to create new colors or slicing a perfect lipstick with a knife for a photoshoot, there is something strangely satisfying about watching the destruction of pricey beauty products on the internet. But this scene is every makeup junkie’s worst nightmare – yet we still can’t look away.

Sephora employees, being the beauty bosses that they are, were quick to fix the situation. “In no time flat they calmed down their panic-mode faces, brought out a cart, whisked away that display, cleaned up the remainder and the floor,” Nelson told Insider.

The incident prompted her to make a polite PSA to shopping parents: “Mammas, please shop for your makeup ? without your tiny humans. It’s not fun for you…or them…or the expensive product…This massive demolished palette makes me ?. Makeup should always make me ?.”

But Nelson’s response to the makeup mishap stirred up more of a reaction than she could have ever imagined. “I woke up to the internet mob of insanity because of my one cranky post,” Nelson said in the interview with Insider. “I honestly don’t think I said anything 99% of people don’t think anyway so I’m not that devastated by the hurricane of it.”

Check out some of the reactions below.

Just no!
