Molly-Mae is the latest addition to the Love Island villa. Just as the drama was really getting started between the first 12 islanders (the sandwich man is sad because the handsome boxer stole his surfer), producers made the epic decision to send in their first “bombshell”.
The public voted on which man she should go on a date with and we chose to send in Tommy.
When we left Molly-Mae Hague last night, she was waiting in the hot tub for her first date with boxer, Tommy Fury. For all we know, she’s still there, getting wrinkled fingers and wondering what all her Instagram followers are doing right now.
So, what do we know about Ms Molly-Mae Hague? Who is she and what is her deal?
First of all, she’s 20 years old. Apparently, she had 150,000 Instagram followers when she was chosen to go into the villa, but she’s currently at 283,000. Looks like friends, family members and/or her agent is running the account now. She’s your classic social media influencer, with the traditional mix of bikini photos, discount codes and dispatches from Coachella. She’s made for Love Island – and with a bit of fame in her life already, perhaps she’s better prepared than most to withstand the madness that will follow her appearance in Mallorca.
Molly-Mae is a beauty queen from Hertfordshire. She was the winner of the World Teen Supermodel competition in 2016 and since then has built a career as a social influencer. It’s been lucrative enough for Molly-Mae to buy her own flat.
But what about her dating history, then? Molly-Mae’s romantic CV features several footballers who’ve slid into her social media DMs. Most notably, she dated Leicester City’s James Maddison earlier this year. Her worst date, she says, was with a premier league footballer who paid for a quarter of her taxi’s cost to get to his house. She says she’s ready to date someone outside the football scene (a professional boxer, perhaps?).
In other news, Molly-Mae is already friends with former Islanders Rosie Williams and Kendall Rae Knight, who frequently post emojis on her Instagram posts.
