Our curated edit of the chicest glassware is perfect for the festive season, no matter your tipple of choice

From going all out on theChristmas décorto going a little crazy on thestocking fillersand treating ourselves to a newfestive jumper, you can bet we’re going over the top this holiday season.

And since we’llactuallybe able to be with our family and loved ones – for a few days at least – our bonhomie will also include a festivetablescapeworthy of more than a few Instagram stories. Over the past year, we’ve all become alotmore obsessed withhomeware, and Christmas will be no exception – we’ll be celebrating this season with chictwisted candles, the most stylish crackers we can afford and of course the best festive glassware for a celebratory tipple.

We don’t mean to sound negative, but 2020 has been *kind of* a disappointment hasn’t it? It seems like a lifetime ago that we entered the fresh new decade full of excitement and optimism for the ‘new roaring 20s’ before Coronavirus promptly put a stop to that. From cancelled weddings, postponed holidays, time lost with loved with ones and the toll its taken on our mental health, it hasn’t been the kindest year to any of us.

So we’re pretty happy that we’ll soon be seeing the back of it – but not before we go out in style, obvs.

Because Christmas just wouldn’t be Christmas without a cheeky drink (or six) would it? And whether you’re a Prosecco lover, partial to a G&T or intent on trying the latest rosé direct from France, your drink of choice just tastes better out of a good-looking glass doesn’t it? Even the first sip of lager is elevated when you’re drinking it out of a handmade, craft beer glass like these ones.

So we scoured our favourite home retailers – from John Lewis, to Oliver Bonas and Graham Green to find the best glassware for your festive celebrations – and beyond.

For that perfect glass of bubbly might we point you in the direction of these vintage style champagne saucers, or perhaps these pink stemless champagne flutes? If gin is your tipple of choice, we love these elegant gold-rimmed goblets or these coloured water wave gin glasses – and both can double up if you move onto a festive-themed cocktail.

These Tom Dixon metallic stemmed wine glasses, La Double J Murano glasses, or even these classic crystal glasses from The White Company, will all make that velvety red go down even better and our glassware edit even includes the most stylish tumblers – like these amber speckled ones – so even good ol’ H20 will taste better this festive season.
