ITV’s brand new thriller starring Anna Friel comes to our screens next month and we are seriously pumped

Set in the scenic Lake District, Deep Water follows the lives of three “complex and vibrant” women who are bonded by their similarly-aged children and meetings at the school gates. As they face tough choices and difficult decisions whilst trying to hold their families together, these women struggle to “keep their heads above very deep water”.

She blew our minds with her epic performance in Marcella, and now Anna Friel is returning to our screens in a brand new ITV thriller based on Paula Day’s Windermere novels.

Kate is a wealthy mother of two who appears to have her life perfectly together, Lisa is a businesswoman struggling to find balance in her life and Roz who once had a thriving physiotherapist business but has fallen into huge amounts of debt. When Kate invites Lisa and her husband to dinner, it all goes spectacularly wrong.

To give you a flavour of what’s to come, check out the newly-released trailer below. It looks SO damm good.

Penned by The Wilsons’ Anna Simon, the female-led ensemble explores modern family life and the pressure to balance work and life. “Anna has cleverly woven together two of Paula’s brilliant novels, to create a wonderful modern and layered series”, revealed ITV’s Head of Drama, Polly Hill. “It’s funny, sexy, truthful and often outrageous, and should have the audience asking what they would do to hold their own family together.”

Anna Friel is joined by her co-stars, Howard End’s Rosalind Eleazar and Sinead Keenan who received a Bafta nomination for her performance in Little Blue Boy. Friel will play Lisa, Sinead will take on the role of Roz and Rosalind will play Kate.

An exact release date is yet to be released but ITV have confirmed the six-part series will air in August.

Ready and waiting!
