Meghan Markle Will Likely Wear This $9 Nail Polish For The Royal Wedding

Apparently, when it comes to nails, there is strict protocol: Members of the Royal Family are expected to wear theirs clean, groomed, and if painted, only in a shade of nude or sheer pink.

In fact, the Queen of England has worn the same pink polish, Essie’s Ballet Slippers ($9), for nearly 30 years. According to the brand, the color was commissioned by Her Majesty’s hairstylist in 1989, and it’s all she’s worn since.

With only 15 days left until the Royal Wedding, lips are sealed when it comes to Meghan Markle’s bridal look. However, that hasn’t stopped people from speculating about everything from her wedding dress to how she will wear her hair and makeup – and now, sources are talking about the shade of nail polish she will pick for her big day. While no one has been able to identify the exact shade, it will likely be a sheer shade of pink – which, you know, makes sense.

But back to the bride-to-be: Markle wore a similar shade of pink for her engagement announcement and ring reveal in November 2017; however, she tends to favor a classic nude nail, filed short and square. Happily, whatever she prefers, the Royal Family’s favorite nail polish brand has plenty of options, and to help her choose, CVS just curated an exclusive assortment of 10 wedding-worthy Essie polishes, aptly titled the Royal Wedding collection.

If you are looking to get your hands on the collection, you’re in luck: CVS also launched an “Obsessie” (get it? ) loyalty program in which customers can purchase a “Buy 4, get the 5th free” bundle in stores.

As for Markle’s wedding dress, fittings are well under way at Kensington Palace, but that’s all we know. Bets are on designers like Ralph and Russo, Erdem, and Alexander McQueen, as well as Markle’s friend Roland Mouret. In 2016, before she even met Prince Harry, the actress told Glamour that she preferred wedding dresses that are “whimsical or subtly romantic,” so don’t hold your breath for a princess gown.

Her day-to-day look is effortless, and we expect the soon-to-be Duchess of Sussex will extend this to her wedding look, too. While her infamous messy bun or loose waves are likely, we can’t rule out classic styles like the chignon. It has been reported that she will go to celebrity hairstylist Miguel Perez, who also works with Amal Clooney in London. For makeup, we predict a very natural look – glowy skin, a soft smokey eye, and the rosy-brown lipstick she is rumored to love.
