Marilyn Monroe and Joe DiMaggio’s Former Love Nest Is Now a Renovated Hotel Suite

Marilyn Monroe and Joe DiMaggio are a couple of Hollywood legends, and it seems that everything they once touched has, indeed, turned to gold.

The apartment where the megawatt couple lived during their brief marriage in 1954 has since been transformed into a $1,200-a-night hotel room at the Lexington Hotel, according to the New York Post. And the space, which is just blocks away from where Monroe filmed her iconic skirt-blowing scene in The Seven Year Itch, almost looks as though it came straight out of a movie set.

The suite, called the Norma Jeane Suite in honor of Monroe’s birth name, spans 600 square feet, with a 200-square-foot private terrace. The main space consists of a living room and a dining area, with plenty of natural light flooding the interior.

The master bedroom features a bed flanked by mirrored dressers and a cozy corner space with a desk and chair. Memorabilia and photos featuring Monroe and DiMaggio are scattered throughout the suite to honor the couple. The suite was previously called “The Centerfold. ”

Other properties linked to Monroe have been sold off in recent years; last June, Monroe’s Spanish-style Brentwood, California, house sold for $7. 25 million. It was the last residence where she lived prior to her tragic 1962 death.

The Some Like It Hot actress had purchased the house for herself just six months after her split from her third husband, playwright Arthur Miller. She bought it in February 1962 for $77,500, paying half in cash and taking out a mortgage for the rest. She and Miller also previously lived in a country retreat in Roxbury, Connecticut, a two-story house built in 1783.
