Love Island bosses have confirmed new dating show The Cabins is happening

Paul Mortimer, ITV’s Head of Digital Channels and Acquisitions said: “This is a fantastic new format which challenges young people to delete the apps and attempt to date face-to-face, with no distractions.

“We’re thrilled to be bringing this show to ITV2 viewers who will have front row seats, eavesdropping on our couples as they attempt to find true love. ”

After the void left by the lack of a summer edition of Love Island (thanks pandemic! ), we have a new dating show on the horizon by ITV2 and it sounds all kinds of brilliant.

The bosses behind Love Island are launching a winter TV show called The Cabins at the start of the new year and it’s an entirely new format, challenging singletons to move in together…ON THE FIRST DATE. Yep, see? Sounds good already, doesn’t it?

The show is set to persuade us all to ditch technology and go back to basics with contestants hitching up together in luxurious log cabins, with hot-tubs and sweeping seclusion, located somewhere in the British countryside.

Yes, it may be a pretty romantic backdrop, but will the couple’s really like what they discover? We’re expecting a few hits but a LOT of misses too including some proper awkwardness. Gosh, we’re excited!

A source told The Sun that the show persuades people to get to know each other without social media, apps and the internet. “After 24 hours together they will be able to decide whether they stay together for a bit longer, or move on to someone new. ”

The source said that if the singletons remain as a couple for “up to four days” then they will give other singles the chance to enter the cabin in a major shake-up. Ooooh, we’re sensing DRAMA here.

It gives the new group of singletons the chance to “potentially meet their Mr or Miss Right”

According to the source, filming will start in the next few months and the show is casting now, ready to air in the new year.

Bring on 2021!
