La Mer is the crème de la crème of skincare and its cult Moisturising Cream is a staple on every beauty editor’s top shelf.
Founded by an acclaimed scientist, who formulated the original Miracle Broth to treat chemical burns, the brand is known for its ultra-nourishing skin solutions, while delivering a luxury experience.
This week, La Mer revealed its latest innovation; a sheet mask. But this isn’t just any sheet mask. It contains a whole 30ml of the heralded Treatment Lotion combined with Japanese skin-hugging technology in the mask’s micro-fibres. Basically, it’s the chicest sheet mask ever.
La Mer Treatment Lotion Hydrating Mask, £120
THE REVIEWER Lottie Winter, Beauty Editor
I have all types of skin; oily, sensitive and congested all at once. And in this hot weather, my skin is especially temperamental. It is currently in the midst of both a big breakout and a serious dry spell. Here’s hoping the mask provides some much-needed hydration while able to calm my complexion, too.
THE REVIEW
Everything about the experience felt luxurious. I prepped my skin with an extra helping of La Mer’s Treatment Lotion, which is dubbed as ‘liquid energy’ due to its instant hydrating abilities, and layered the sheet mask on top.
The mask itself contains all of La Mer’s hero ingredients. First up, the Miracle Broth, which is made from sustainably sourced sea kelp and is supremely soothing and healing. It also has a cocktail of algae and hyaluronic acid to deeply hydrate and revitalise the skin.
After ten very relaxing minutes, I lifted the sheet mask off to reveal noticeably plumped, glowing skin. I had to go straight out afterwards so applied makeup straight after, but my skin continued to glow all day long.
At £120, it’s at the more expensive end of the market, but nothing beats it for the ultimate pamper session with visible results.
