Kylie Jenner is being slated as she launches a Kylie Skin hand sanitiser

Many have taken to social media to accuse the 23-year-old beauty tycoon of ‘profiting and capitalising from the pandemic’, asking why her hand sanitiser costs $7 while many other alternatives are considerably cheaper.

Kylie Jenner has just added a hand sanitiser to her skincare line, which launches on kylieskin. com today. However, unlike many of her other products, the hand sanitiser – which contains 80% alcohol and promises to prevent dryness – is yet to sell out within hours of its launch.

One disheartened fan wrote: “Kylie really made kylie skin hand sanitizer…………. like ? Let’s profit off a pandemic. ”

“kylie jenner really out here selling HAND SANITIZER as if it’s something special,” said another.

One user commented: “for 4 interest free payments of 1. 75 you could have your very own overpriced kylie sanitizer… Kylie’s selling hand sanitizer now lol jeezus. And mf’s gonna buy it. ”

On Instagram, someone even commented: “Girl this is pathetic! ”

For all the negativity however, there were hundreds more comments praising the launch, with many describing it as ‘amazing’, ‘the prettiest hand sanitiser ever’ and saying they ‘can’t wait to buy it’.

Hand sanitiser-gate aside, it’s not the first time Kylie has put her name to something in the fight against coronavirus. In April last year, she donated $1 million to healthcare workers in Los Angeles.

But Kylie was also recently criticised for being ‘tone deaf’ and ‘boasting’ her wealth during the pandemic, as she posted photos of an extravagant Aspen holiday with her family, with one user writing: “Must be nice to flaunt your money in the middle of a global pandemic when most people haven’t worked in months”.

Kylie launched Kylie Cosmetics in 2015 before expanding her beauty empire with the launch of Kylie Skin in May 2019. When the skincare range debuted online, the entire line sold out within five minutes.
