Kim Kardashian sent her social media fans into a frenzy this week as she took part in a viral TikTok challenge creating the stereotypical ‘British girl’ look.
On the account she shares with her eldest daughter North West, the American reality star-turned-businesswoman shared a hilarious video of herself singing along to a song by Blackpool grime star Millie while aggressively chewing gum. The 42-year-old plasters herself in heavy make-up, including foundation that appears too orange for her skin tone, heavy eye make-up, thick block eyebrows and a line of foundation across her lips. She also piles her brunette locks up into a messy bun during the short video.
Fans were absolutely gushing about how she nailed the look online. However, others couldn’t help but ponder whether she was throwing shade at her half-sister Kylie Jenner, as she used her make-up products, Kylie Cosmetics, to stray from her usual glamorous persona to create the less-than-desirable look.
Kim’s use of Kylie’s products may (and we use the word ‘may’ very, very loosely here) have been in retaliation to a picture Jenner uploaded this week of herself in a SKIMS original bodysuit where she didn’t tag the brand. When Kim asked her to tag her brand, the 25-year-old responded: «I had to steal this from mom’s house and now you want me to promote? ! ! ! ! ’ Wow. » Kylie has yet to tag SKIMS in the picture.
One person noted the supposed shade, tweeting: «Kim is only doing a revenge Video for Kylie using her make-up just because she didn’t tag @skims. » However, others loved her joining in on the popular TikTok trend, with another commenting: «Didn’t have Kim Kardashian doing a 2002 British schoolgirl makeover on my 2023 bingo card but here we are. » A third added: «Kim Kardashian unintentionally becoming the queen of TikTok. »
TBH though, we just love the fact that Kim Kardashian has joined in on a bit of British banter!
