And though there’s been nothing but radio silence since news of her divorce from husband Simon Konecki broke two weeks ago, the singer emerged last night to show her emotions with a hilariously relatable meme.
Adele is the undisputed queen of the heartbreak ballad, as anyone who sobbed when Someone Like You debuted at the 2011 Brit Awards will attest.
Taking to Instagram, Adele shared a split portrait meme, with one picture of her sobbing, and the other belting a powerful song when she sang with James Corden in Carpool Karaoke.
As you can see, the chart topper’s wicked sense of humour is still firmly intact.
The meme caption read: “When you catch yourself in your feelings then your remember who you are.”
The post brought an outpouring of love from Adele’s 32 million devoted Instagram followers.
“That’s right lady!!! Remember who you are!!!” wrote one fan, while another responded, “Adele is a boss bitch!!!!!!”
Award-winning singer Katy B also turned up to show her support, commenting: “Yes girl.”
Adele has been fiercely private about her relationship in the past, although it’s believed that she dated Simon dated for five years before tying the knot in 2016.
In an official statement released by her representatives last month, the Someone Like You singer reaffirmed that she and Simon remain committed to raising their 6-year-old son Angelo together.
“Adele and her partner have separated. They are committed to raising their son together lovingly. As always they ask for privacy. There will be no further comment”.
