A prince is born. Congratulations are in order for the royal family as Kate Middleton and Prince William welcomed their third child, a baby boy, at St. Mary’s Hospital in London on April 23.
Kenginston Palace confirmed the exciting news in a statement, saying: “Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge was safely delivered of a son at 1101hrs. The baby weighs 8lbs 7oz. The Duke of Cambridge was present for the birth. ”
“The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall, Prince Harry and members of both families have been informed and are delighted with the news. Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well. ”
The Duchess was admitted to the hospital before 6AM (U. K. time), on Monday and delivered in the Lindo Wing, where she welcomed her first two children, Prince George, 4, and Princess Charlotte, 2. The newest member of the royal family is fifth in line to the throne after Prince Charles, Prince William, Prince George, and Princess Charlotte.
Although the beginning of Kate’s pregnancy was marked by Hyperemesis Gravidarum, a condition that causes severe morning sickness, the royal was able to carry on throughout the second and third trimester, all while showing off her polished and chic maternity style in the process.
Royal fans have been camping out outside the hospital for weeks in anticipation of the arrival of the newest member of the royal family and hope to get a glimpse of the latest addition and Kate and William depart the hospital and head home to Kensington Palace.
The arrival of their baby boy isn’t the only exciting baby news for the Middleton family, as reports claiming Kate’s younger sister, Pippa Middleton, is pregnant with her first child surfaced over the weekend.
