Kamala Harris Calls 14-Year-Old Artist Who Painted Gorgeous Portraits of Her and Joe Biden

My name is Tyler Gordon and I’m 14 years old and I live in the Bay Area! I painted this picture of you and I hope you like it! ! ! ” he wrote. He then urged his supporters to help him get Kamala’s attention: “Please tag her and her people so that she can see this. Please! ! ! ”

While some of us (e. g. me) lack what you might call extreme artistic talent, there are people like 14-year-old painter Tyler Gordon who clearly have a knack for creating masterpieces. Case in point: his recent painting of Kamala Harris. On Nov. 22, the young talent – who lives in the Bay Area, where Kamala is from – posted a time-lapse Instagram video of him rendering a stunning portrait of the vice president-elect.

The clip also features Mary J. Blige hit “Work That,” which was Kamala’s walk-out song after the election win.

Three days later, Tyler got his wish, and Kamala gave him a ring. “She called me! ! ! ! ! ! @KamalaHarris called ME! ! ! ! ” Tyler tweeted on Nov. 25. Two days later, Kamala shared a video of her chatting with the artist.

“Tye, you are amazing,” she told him. “I am overwhelmed with just the magnificence of your artistry. You really have a gift, my goodness. ” Kamala went on to encourage Tyler to keep using his skill to inspire others. She posted the clip on Instagram and shared more gratitude in the caption. “Calling Tye,” she wrote. “Thank you to everyone who tagged me in @Official_TylerGordon’s video. I was able to call him before Thanksgiving to tell him how much I appreciate him sharing his gift with all of us. ”

But the story doesn’t end there, folks! Shortly after speaking with Kamala, Tyler picked up his paint brush again to create a portrait of President-elect Joe Biden. He shared the final product – with a special shout-out to Joe – in an Instagram post on Nov. 28.

“I couldn’t have one without the other,” he wrote. “I painted @JoeBiden because he stutters just like me. He showed me that speaking slowly kinda masks a stutter. ” Tyler has painted other notable figures such as Michelle Obama and Kobe Bryant. Check out those paintings on his website – after you watch Kamala’s sweet video above and cry happy tears, of course.
