Tom posted the same Sunday morning picture, but with an extra crucial detail, adding at the bottom of his caption, “Colour used: @bioseaweedgel #SGAreYouShore? #bioseaweedgel. «
The nail shade’s name, Are You Shore, is a touching tribute since Jen acknowledged in the newsletter she sent out to subscribers of On The JLo that the day had been a long time coming. “Love is beautiful. Love is kind. And it turns out love is patient. Twenty years patient,” she said, so we can be pretty certain that the singer is as “shore” as can be.
As for the colour, it’s described by the brand as a “nude sandy brown,” with a “solid finish. ” Up close it looks like a sandy greige that appears purple-grey in some lights, and more of an earthy nude in others.
The Bio Seaweed Gel colours are for professional-use only, but for something similar you can apply at home, Essie’s Sand Tropez nails the sandy nude tone, while OPI’s Berlin There Done That swerves more towards griege.
Given that the ring (and therefore her nails) took centre stage, we’re sure JLo put a fair bit of thought into the exact shade she wanted to mark such an important moment, and it makes sense that she entrusted the job to Tom, her long-time manicurist, who has taken care of her nails for most of Jen’s most high profile events over the last few years.
So, Jennifer Lopez has a shiny new manicure, a shiny new ring, and shiny new surname. Congrats, Mrs Affleck.
