While her parents dreamed she would someday become a doctor, Deepica Mutyala set out to conquer the world – the beauty world – instead. Mutyalais a self-made on-air beauty expert and vlogger whose videos have racked up over 10 million views.
After perusing and landing a career in the cosmetic industry, she quit her day job to make creative content full-time. In 2015, she launched a YouTube channel in hopes of making beauty more approachable and inclusive of all women.
Given her success, you would never guess she starting filming with a cell phone in her apartment. That’s determination. That’s Glam.

How did you start a your career? I had a summer internship at L’Oreal in college that catapulted me into the beauty industry. I fell in love immediately and have been pursuing some sort of career in it ever since. Perseverance is key.
What do you feel is most beautiful about this world? Individuality ?
If you had a tagline, what would it be? “Be Bold! ” It literally hangs in neon lighting above my bed.
