Harper Beckham is bringing back the ‘Pob’ and we couldn’t be happier

Ah. Before she became Victoria Beckham, we knew her as Victoria Adams (a. k. a. Posh Spice). Back in the Spice heyday, Vic had a classic bob, a super-pout and a penchant for dark lip liner.

1997

1998

The Spice Girls were still busy gracing the cover of every magazine and crisp packet in the UK, and little Miss Posh was getting all grown up and cosy with a certain über-desirable footballer. The Spice bob was gone and she was working the subtle tan and minimal make-up look.

November 1999

A dabble with a pot of hair gel lead to some undesirable results…

1999

Just before the big Beckham wedding Vic’s spiky tendrils go into over-drive.

February 2000

Fast forward a year, and Posh makes her debut as a catwalk prowler at the Grachvogel show for London Fashion Week. Leave this look to Aggy, we say.

September 2000

As the Girls call it a day on Spice, Victoria experiments with a head of full, multi-hued, tousled extensions.

December 2000

Those extensions are ironed to within an inch of their life, but Victoria can merely smirk at their plight…

January 2001

The extensions are given a break – for now – and Victoria opts for a more ‘mumsy’ look with this early take on the ‘Pob’. Sunny highlights soften the Spice Girl’s look whilst a golden tan leaves Vic looking relaxed, happy and radiant.

June 2001

Could a solo career be on the cards? Mrs B amps up her style with a flicked, choppy bob that’s sure to get this ‘Wannabe’ some column inches.

September 2001

Crikey! Performing as a solo Spice for the first time, Vic reinvents herself for dance culture and flaunts ‘futurism’, with lengthy, zebra-striped extensions and a daring approach to eye shadow.

2002

After a tricky 2001, Victoria had put her music career to one side, and the artist formally known as Posh was looking to reinvent herself in the world of fashion. Having ditched the extensions, Vic goes back to her choppy crop roots, adding plenty of blonde highlights and rose-bud pink blusher for impact.

2003

After becoming a mum for the second time to the very cute Romeo Beckham, Victoria showcases her new Rapunzel-like locks in an on-trend, half-up, half-down ‘do. The rich brunette shade is fabulously flattering on the fashionista, whilst the subtle make-up and healthy tan take years off.

2004

This year it seemed likeVictoria was making more headlines than records – and her often daring outfits guaranteed her plenty of style column inches. Here Posh pulled out all the stops when stepping out with hubby by her side, with full-on blonde-bombshell streaks and a killer, pillar-box red pout.

2005

Flaunting the now classic WAG look that she practically pioneered, Posh works the über tanned, über extension-ed, über sultry footballer’s wife look with bags of attitude.

January 2006

By 2006, those extensions were longer, blonder and more styled than ever.

August 2006

…Enter the ‘Pob’ – a style so coveted it was worthy of its own name. When Victoria first stepped out with this chic graduated bob, a thousand copycats flocked to salons armed with snaps of the former Spice Girl for an identical look.

September 2006

New York Fashion Week gives Victoria the chance to experiment with her make-up rather than her hair. Victoria breaks the beauty rule of accentuating either the eyes or lips with plenty of pink-purple shimmer and bold, coral red. Does it work?

June 2007

The Spices reform and Posh goes platinum with a super-blonde choppy crop.

September 2007

With the choppy crop all grown out, and now an official LA woman, Victoria went back to the ever-popular Pob – but this harsh colour just wasn’t working for us.

December 2007

Hurrah! Victoria’s warm, milk chocoately hue is oh-so flattering, whilst the side part and va-va-voom volume at the roots just screams ‘style’. Could this be our favourite Posh look of all time?

May 2008

At a New York gala, Victoria goes all out in the glamour stakes. This look ensured plenty of column inches, but not all of them were flattering flattering. A coiffed, quiffed up-do + over-sculpted and bronzed skin = an ageing look for the best amongst us!

May 2008

Another day, another gala. Take note those with heart-shaped faces – a voluminous up-do like Posh’s is not the best choice for you.

June 2008

At a New York fashion event, Vic tried out an on-trend, side-parted, slicked-down ‘do which is surprisingly flattering.

July 2008

Channeling Hepburn at a LA awards party.

September 2008

Taking the Audrey Hepburn homage one step further with Victoria’s now second most famous ‘do of all time – the Posh crop. Vic showcased her cutesy, pixie-esque cut at Marc Jacobs during New York Fashion Week and made headlines around the globe.

Slicking down the crop for an edgy twist and, what’s more, the make-up is spot-on! Posh has finally nailed it in the hair and beauty stakes – that’s Hollywood for you.
