Glossier Is Officially Opening Up Shop in Los Angeles

Glossier is taking the $52 million that it raised in Series C funding back in February and heading west – namely, to Los Angeles, where the Instagram-favorite beauty brand will be opening its second permanent retail store.

Its first, of course, is in New York City, on the 6th floor of a building on Lafayette Street. WWD reports that the 1,500-square-foot brick-and-mortar space will be on the west side of the city (on Melrose Avenue near the likes of Violet Grey, Isabel Marant and The Line) and will open in May.

“Los Angeles is a huge market for us, and San Francisco – in a lot of California we have a lot of demand,” founder and CEO Emily Weiss told WWD, referencing the brands month-long pop-up store in San Francisco. It opened on Friday and so far has reportedly seen aGlossier product purchase, on average, every 20 seconds.

In addition to Glossiers current temporary presence in the Bay Area, the company has also operated week-long pop-ups in both London and Toronto, the former of which reportedly drew 10,000 visitors – perhaps a sign of whats, or wheres, to come.
