Selena has got her designer ON for her best pal, Theresa Marie Mingus’ affordable swimwear brand, KRAHS Swim.
However, after having a life-saving kidney transplant last year, the design brief took on a new purpose and incorporates high waists and belts, for instance, which Selena says made her feel more comfortable with her post-surgery body.
As if Selena Gomez’s CV wasn’t full enough, Selena has added a new skill to her set. Aside from being an actress, singer, producer of Netflix’s 13 Reasons Why and a muse for many fashion brands including Coach, Selena is now a full-fledged fashion designer in her own right.
“I did have a really good time designing,” Selena said in a video to promote the swimwear line. “It was fun. The design I did, one of them, it was the high waisted one with the belt. I’ve had a kidney transplant and I like bathing suits that kind of cover where that’s been and make me feel comfortable.”
The bond girl-inspired pieces range from approx. £55-£100 and not only does the line empower Selena’s body image, but it’s also a symbol of her friendship with Theresa, who she met 5 years ago.
In a moving post, Selena said: “She has taught me how to see life in a fun, carefree and uplifting way. She has shown me how to be a strong and fearless woman. She is beautiful, kind and smart. I saw how capable she was of achieving her dreams. I wanted nothing more than to see her pursue them and soar. And here you are making it happen T. I love you and I am so proud of you.”
We are so here for this, Selena Gomez.
