Films aside, the Oscars are also known for show-stoppingred carpet outfits, unexpected wins and groundbreaking acceptance speeches that fuel the internet’s memes for weeks.

Awards season is fast approaching, and with that comes the yearly anticipation for the most prestigious night in film. Now in its 92nd year, The Oscars draw together Hollywood royalty to internationally recognise the greatest film achievements over the past year.

So what can we expect from this year? Another twelve months on from the outbreak of the #TimesUp and #MeToo movements, we’re hoping to see gender equality better reflected throughout the night’s proceedings, from the winners to the speeches.

When is the Oscars 2020?

The Oscars will be taking place on Sunday 9 February 2020 at 5pm PT / 8pm ET. NowTV and Sky are yet to confirm whether they will broadcast the ceremony live in the UK. Stay tuned for all of GLAMOUR’s coverage.

Who will be hosting the Oscars this year?

Last year, The Oscars went without a host for the first time in 30 years after Kevin Hart was forced to step down when a series of homophobic tweets were uncovered. It is unknown whether The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences will follow this same formula this year.

Where will the Oscars be taking place?

The ceremony will once again take place at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.

When will the Oscar nominations be revealed?

The nominations for 2020 will be released on Monday 13 January 2020.

Who are the main winner predictions?

As speculation continues to rise, we’re predicting big wins for Greta Gerwig’s Little Women, Noah Baumbach’s Marriage Story and Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon A Time In Hollywood.

We also suspect Charlize Theron will be awarded for her role as Megyn Kelly inBombshell, while Renee Zellweger is also likely to scoop up an award for her performance in Judy.
