Everything you need to know about the Charlie’s Angels reboot

Dorky dancing, badass martial arts, the power of a hair flip: eighteen years ago Charlie’s Angels gave us some of the best life lessons of the millennium.

And while we’ll always have a place in our hearts for Lucy, Drew and Cameron, 2019 is promising a brand new instalment of kickass girl power. Buckle up, because the angels are coming back to the big screen.

Here’s everything we know about the hotly-anticipated film so far.

Who are Charlie’s Angels?

The big-name talent here is Kristen Stewart, but we’re also pretty excited to see Ella Balinska (Midsomer Murders) and Naomi Scott (Power Rangers, Aladdin) in action too.

If that’s not enough to get you excited, the news that actress/producer/director extraordinaire Elizabeth Banks is helming the bid-screen adaptation surely will. With a world record-breaking debut under her belt for Pitch Perfect, we’d say she’s the perfect woman to bring a girl-powered blockbuster to our screens.

Oh, and she’ll also star as Bosley, the detective agency owner and enigmatic communication between the angels and Charlie.

Who else is in the cast?

Besides the leading ladies, there’s plenty more star talent to look out for in the all-new reboot.

Star Trek legend Patrick Stewart will appear alongside the crimefighting trio, as well as The Hunger Games star Sam Claflin.

Others stars to star in the movie include To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before star Noah Centineo, and Marvel star Djimon Hounsou, while Livia Matthes, Chris Pang, Nat Faxon and Luis Gerardo Méndez will also feature.

*Squeals* ‘To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before’ is getting a sequel!

What’s it about?

While everyone’s keeping tight-lipped about the actual plot, we do know that the new film will honour the legacy of Charles Townsend and his agency, while introducing a new generation of modern and global Angels.

In keeping with the current momentum for feminist narratives, it looks like we could be seeing multiple teams of angels across the globe working to lift each other up.

“It’s kind of like a ‘woke’ version,” Stewart said in a statement. “There’s a kitsch nature to the last ones that was super fun. But nowadays, if you see a woman in combat, everything should be completely and utterly within their ability. ”
When will it be released?

Charlie’s Angels will be released in UK and US cinemas on November 1, 2019, and it’s safe to say we cannot wait.
