That’s right, nightwear is getting a stylish overhaul across the high street and designer brands alike. You may have seen the brand Sleeper doing the rounds on Instagram and fashion blogs over the past year – their black tie feather-trimmed crepe de chine pyjama set is constantly selling out on Net-A-Porter where it retails for £262.
Thanks to lockdown 2.0, we are all about the comfy but Zoom-appropriate wardrobe. If you’re looking to step it up from your ancient tracksuit bottoms and baggy jumper, then let us introduce you to the best fashion investment you can make right now: chic pyjama sets.
So, it’s no wonder that when River Island dropped an affordable dupe of the designer set – their feather cuff pyjama shirt (£40) and matching feather hem pyjama trousers (£45) – shoppers went wild to snap up the set. In fact, the monochrome polka dot colour-way has already sold out (although it’s been so popular, River Island have promised a restock within the next two weeks – keep an eye out on riverisland.com).
The River Island set has already been spotted all over Instagram on influencers such as @livblankson and @_jessicaskye, plus celebrities such as Emily Atack, Lottie Moss and Munroe Bergdorf.
“We’re excited to launch the only non-essential, essential PJ set that your wardrobe needs – the ultimate stay at home style staple for dressing up (for the supermarket), or down (for the sofa) as these are definitely not to be slept on!” said Lucy Nutter, Head of Womenswear Buying for the brand.
“We hope our customer loves them as much as we do, and all of our friends of RI who’ve been spotted (quite literally) on (insta)gramglam, wearing these today and for the foreseeable.”
We’ll be styling our feather detail pyjama set with our comfiest, cosiest pair of slippers (it’s not like our boss can see our feet on Zoom anyway) or a chunky pair of winter boots for our lunchtime stroll around the park.
