Everyone’s favourite summer label, Self-Portrait, just launched its first swimwear collection

It has been one of the world’s most popular summer fashion labels since its launch five years ago, so it may come as a surprise that Self-Portrait were yet to launch a swimwear collection. Until today, that is.

In what may well be some of the best news to come out of 2019 so far, the London-based contemporary label has just released its first-ever poolside offering, with enough swimsuits, separates and throw-over beachwear to keep our wardrobes satisfied throughout the season.

Founded in November 2013, Malaysian-born, Central Saint Martin’s-educated designer, Han Chong, has curated a wildly successful brand and is enjoying unprecedented success.

With the likes of Kendall Jenner, Michelle Obama, Meghan Markle, Kate Middleton, Beyonce, Chrissy Teigen and Jourdan Dunn all lapping up his designs, it’s no surprise that Self-Portrait is expanding its horizons.

Functional, practical, but ultimately very pretty, Han Chong’s latest injection into his supremely feminine label is oozing with the brand’s design DNA throughout, with soft prints and colours counterbalanced with edgy laser-cuts, heavy ruching and unexpected detailing.

This is the surprising trend you’ll see all over Instagram this spring

Sold in approximately 375 of the world’s top retailers, including Selfridges, Net-a-Porter and Harrods, Self-Portrait’s price-point was another seriously smart move – pitching itself somewhere between high end and high street.
