Eva Longoria on why women should STOP apologising for being absolute bosses

Claps to Eva Longoria. Three months after giving birth, everyone’s favourite Housewife applied the ultimate glitter lip, slipped into a fab frock and OWNED the L’Oréal Paris Fashion Week show. What. A. Woman. Ahead of sashaying down the river runway and amongst the backstage carnage of readying the Queens of L’Oréal including our Cheryl, Duckie and Andie MacDowell (to name just a few), I slipped into Eva’s dressing room for some last-minute coaching on owning that sass, by the queen of sass herself…

What is your tip for being ‘worth it’ in everyday life?

“I live by a quote that Maya Angelou said, which is, “people will forget what you said, they will forget what you did, but they will never forget how you made them feel. ” I try every day to have authentic conversations with people, whether it’s about the weather or about fashion. I just try to be kind and you should try to give people an experience with you that they will remember. You are not going to remember if I am talking about lipstick today, but you are going to remember if I was nice to you or I was an arsehole! ”

If I was taking to the runway today, what vibe should I channel?

“So, I wanted to be Natasha Polly on the runway because she has giraffe legs and she does the cross over thing. Although I am going to be scared I will fall if I do that! ”

“Sassy is in the hips, it’s not in the hair flip – it’s in the hips, baby! ”

You are such a girl boss in your own right, how can we own that in everyday life?

“To not apologise for it. I think women tend to go, ‘would you get that done, I am so sorry, I really need it now. ’ No, you need it now, don’t apologise for it. I think you really need to lean into the delegation and leadership of it. ”

If I was walking the L’Oréal show and spotted a cute boy in the crowd, how should I play it?

“Keep it moving! Keep it moving! It’s a fashion show, you do that after the show! It’s also way more mysterious! ”

Which beauty product empowers you the most?

“Sun block! I get sun spots really easily if I am in the sun. I get really uncomfortable and I am like, ‘arghhhh! ’ If I am in my car, if I am talking to someone in a café – I am that insecure about it. So, if I have it on it gives me all the confidence I need! ”
